Job Title: Senior Carpenter Photo Studio

Location: Suwanee, GA

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Carpenter Photo Studio to join our in-house photo studio team and help bring creative concepts to life. This role blends carpentry, painting, and finishing expertise with collaboration, ownership, and leadership through experience. Working closely with designers, stylists, photographers, and production partners, this role supports the creation of high-quality, photography-ready sets, props, and studio fixtures.

This role has the potential to offer meaningful growth capacity. As the studio and team continue to evolve, this position could expand into a lead role for the right individual.

Responsibilities:

Build, modify, and repair set walls, platforms, props, furniture pieces, and studio fixtures
Perform painting and finishing, including paint application, staining, distressing, wallpapering, and specialty finishes to achieve photography-ready results
Match colors, textures, and finishes to creative direction and brand standards
Install art, lighting elements, door and window hardware, and other set components
Read and interpret design plans, making real-time adjustments during shoots as needed
Take ownership of shop organization, tools, materials, and overall workflow efficiency
Prioritize multiple projects and timelines in a fast-paced studio environment
Delegate tasks or provide direction to other carpenters or studio support staff when needed
Identify gaps in tools, processes, or capabilities and proactively suggest improvements
Assist with set installation, breakdown, and on-set support
Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized workspace

Qualifications:

5-7+ years of professional experience in carpentry, scenic painting, set building, or fabrication
Strong, well-rounded skill set across carpentry, painting, finishing, and repairs
Confidence working independently and making sound decisions
Experience organizing a shop or production workspace and managing priorities
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship with the ability to meet tight deadlines
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders
Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills

Bonus:

Experience in photography studios, theatrical sets, or creative production environments
Furniture fabrication or custom finishing experience
