Position Description:
Banner Defense is looking for a multi-talented Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will get to provide engineering support to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Production team. You will be focused on providing cloud technology expertise and guidance in the evaluation of cloud architectures, designs, and implementations. Your work will involve interaction between the Government and Prime Contractors in support of MDA's M&S and integration and test programs on Amazon Web Service (AWS) and/or Microsoft Azure, and you may be asked to analyze the integration of systems engineering processes and methodologies to ensure effectiveness of this work, as well as to analyze the integration of systems engineering processes and methodologies to ensure effectiveness of this work.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and review Framework Software in the Cloud (SWIC) requirements
- Develop and review Framework and Missile Defense System Interface Control Documents (ICD), to include Objective Simulation Framework (OSF) Ground Test Integrated System Simulation (GTISS)
- Lead and facilitate technical discussions and collaboration activities with both internal and external stakeholders to include Prime Contractors and the Missile Defense elements
- Actively participate in Framework, RepBox and CTM Program Agile Software Development Increment Planning activities
- Draft and review technical documents, briefings, white papers, etc.
- Play a role in overall functional strategic planning of Framework, RepBox and CTM Systems Engineering (SE) processes within the organization
Required Skills/Experience:
- US Citizenship
- Active Secret Clearance, with ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance
- Master's Degree
- 12+ years of relevant experience
- AWS Foundational and Associate level certifications and/or Azure Fundamentals and Associate level certifications
- Knowledge of model and simulation (M&S) development
- Experience in Agile and Lean software development principles
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) concepts and applications
- Experience in software containerization development concepts and applications
- Experience in model and simulation requirements development
- Experience in model and simulation verification and validation
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
- Travel is required
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Active TS/SCI Clearance
- AWS Professional and Specialty certifications and/or Azure Expert and Specialist certifications
- Experience in Radio Frequency (RF) and Infrared (IR) signature models
- Experience with environmental models and environmental states and effects
- Experience with missile defense system (MDS) and/or threat system simulation and model testing processes
- Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Experience with DoD and/or MDA acquisition and systems engineering
