Job Description

Strider Technologies delivers strategic intelligence that helps organizations make faster, more confident decisions in an increasingly complex global environment. Using cutting-edge AI and proprietary methodologies, we transform open-source data into actionable insights that help protect technology, talent, and supply chains from nation-state risks.

Strider is seeking a high-ownership Cloud Engineer to help operate and evolve our AWS and Azure environments. This is a hands-on role responsible not only for maintaining production infrastructure, but for continuously improving it.

We're looking for someone who sees manual processes and replaces them with automation. Someone who sees inconsistent patterns and standardizes them. Someone who can support what exists today while building a more scalable and resilient foundation for tomorrow.

You will work closely with Platform, Engineering, and Security to strengthen reliability, reduce operational toil, and mature our cloud architecture in a compliance-focused environment.

What You'll Do

  • Own and evolve large-scale, multi-region AWS and Azure infrastructure supporting critical production workloads.

  • Design, implement, and maintain production-grade Infrastructure as Code frameworks (Terraform, AWS CDK) that establish consistent, repeatable infrastructure patterns across environments.

  • Lead infrastructure automation initiatives by developing tooling and workflows in Python and Bash that significantly reduce operational overhead and manual processes.

  • Architect and enforce secure access control models using IAM best practices, AWS Identity Center, and least-privilege principles across multi-account environments.

  • Operate, scale, and continuously improve Kubernetes (EKS) and Docker-based container platforms used by engineering teams.

  • Establish and improve observability practices by monitoring performance, availability, and cloud spend, and leading initiatives that drive measurable reliability and cost optimization improvements.

  • Identify systemic technical debt, scalability constraints, and reliability gaps across the platform, and lead remediation efforts that improve long-term infrastructure health.

  • Drive modernization efforts by containerizing legacy workloads and improving deployment and infrastructure patterns.

  • Partner with Security and Compliance teams to design infrastructure that meets SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, and CMMC requirements while maintaining operational efficiency.

  • Define and maintain infrastructure standards, architecture patterns, and operational practices that improve platform consistency and team velocity.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers on infrastructure best practices, automation techniques, and cloud architecture.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering roles, with deep expertise in AWS.

  • Proven experience designing and maintaining production-scale Infrastructure as Code systems using Terraform.

  • Strong expertise in IAM architecture, SSO, and secure access design in multi-account cloud environments.

  • Significant experience operating Kubernetes/EKS platforms and containerized workloads at scale.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead infrastructure improvements or automation initiatives that reduce operational overhead.

  • Actively incorporate AI-assisted engineering tools into daily workflows to improve productivity, troubleshooting, documentation, and automation.

  • Strong understanding of cloud networking architecture, including VPC design, subnets, routing, VPNs, and security controls.

  • Experience operating infrastructure in compliance-focused environments with defined security and operational standards.

  • Proficiency in Python and/or Bash for infrastructure automation and tooling.

  • Advanced troubleshooting experience in Linux-based distributed systems.

  • Experience operating Elasticsearch or similar distributed data systems.

  • Experience modernizing legacy infrastructure or applications into scalable containerized architectures.

  • Ability to communicate infrastructure decisions and collaborate effectively with engineering, security, and platform stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Experience operating infrastructure within FedRAMP or CMMC-aligned environments.

  • Familiarity with workflow orchestration frameworks such as Flyte or Airflow.

  • Experience designing or supporting multi-region or globally distributed cloud architectures.

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional).

Why This Role Matters

This role plays a critical part in shaping the reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud platform.

Success in this role means:

  • Manual operational work is replaced by reliable automation.

  • Infrastructure patterns become consistent, reproducible, and easy for engineering teams to use.

  • Cloud resources are used efficiently with improved visibility into cost and performance.

  • Platform reliability and security posture improve while supporting engineering velocity.

If you enjoy improving imperfect systems, building automation that eliminates operational toil, and helping shape the long-term direction of production infrastructure, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation

  • Company Equity Options

  • Flexible PTO

  • Wellness Reimbursement

  • US Holidays (Office Closed)

  • Paid Parental Leave

  • Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance

  • 401(k) Plan
