Job Details

The Project Accountant will play a critical role in managing project financials from inception through closeout. This individual will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and accounting leadership to ensure accurate job costing, billing, compliance documentation, and reporting.

Key ResponsibilitiesManage full-cycle project accounting for multiple construction projectsMaintain and monitor job costing and project budgetsProcess and track AIA billingsHandle project closeouts, including final reconciliations and documentationManage lien waivers, subcontractor compliance, and related documentationTrack project contracts, change orders, and commitmentsAssist with accounts payable and subcontractor/vendor paymentsPrepare monthly financial reports and support forecasting activitiesReconcile project costs and assist with month-end close proceduresPartner with operations teams to ensure financial accuracy across projects

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferredApproximately 5+ years of project accounting experience within constructionStrong understanding of:Job costingAIA billing processesProject closeoutsLien waiversConstruction contract administrationExperience in affordable housing or multifamily construction is a plusProficiency with construction accounting software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, Yardi, CMiC, or similar)Strong Excel and analytical skillsDetail-oriented with excellent communication and organizational abilities
