Duties:Data Strategy: Understands, articulates, and applies principles of the defined strategy to routine business problems that involve a single function. Data Source Identification: Supports the understanding of the priority order of requirements and service level agreements. Helpsidentifythe most suitable source for data that is fit for purpose. Performs initial data quality checks on extracted data. Data Transformation and Integration: Extracts data fromidentifieddatabases. Creates data pipelines and transforms data to a structure that is relevant to the problem by selectingappropriate techniques. Develops knowledge of current data science and analytics trends. Tech. Problem Formulation: Translates/co-owns business problems within one's discipline to data related or mathematical solutions. Identifiesappropriate methods/toolsto beleveragedto provide a solutionforthe problem. Shares use cases andgivesexamples todemonstratehow the method would solve the business problem. Understanding Business Context: Provides recommendations to business stakeholders to solve complex business issues. Develops business cases for projects with a projected return on investment or cost savings. Translates business requirements into projects, activities, and tasks and aligns to overall business strategy and develops domain specificartifact. Serves as an interpreter and conduit to connect business needs with tangible solutions and results.Identifiesand recommend relevant business insightspertaining totheir area of work. Data Modeling: Analyzes complex data elements, systems, data flows, dependencies, and relationships to contribute to conceptual, physical, and logical data models. Develops the Logical Data Model and Physical Data Models including data warehouse and data mart designs. Defines relational tables, primary and foreign keys, and stored procedures to create a data model structure. Evaluates existing data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies. Develops efficient data flows. Analyzes data-related system integration challenges and proposesappropriate solutions. Creates training documentation and trains end-users on data modeling. Oversees the tasks of less experienced programmers and stipulates system troubleshootingsupports. Code Development and Testing: Writes code to develop the required solution and application features bydeterminingtheappropriate programminglanguage andleveragingbusiness, technical, and data requirements. Creates test cases to review andvalidatethe proposed solution design. Createsproofsof concept.Teststhe code using theappropriate testingapproach. Deploys software to production servers. Contributes code documentation,maintainsplaybooks, and providestimelyprogress updates. Data Governance:Establishes, modifies, and documents data governance projects and recommendations. Implements data governance practices in partnership with business stakeholders and peers. Interprets company and regulatory policies on data.Educates others ondata governance processes, practices, policies, and guidelines.Provides recommendations on needed updates or inputs into data governance policies, practices, or guidelines.

Minimum education and experience required:Master’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, or a related field plus 1 year of experience in software engineering or related experience; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, or a related field plus 3 years of experience in software engineering or related experience.

Skills required:Must have experience with: designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting automated ETL pipelines using various programming languages and tools, including Spark or Scala, Unix Shell Scripts, HQL, Hadoop, Hive, Cloud Platform, andAutomicscheduler; building and scheduling ETL pipelines, Aorta ETL framework, and Spark framework; working with multiple business areas to capture detailed requirements to build software solutions and new data sources to add to the data lake platform centralized repository; performing data analysis; building Data Models based on data availability and business requirements using CA Erwin tool; relational and non-relational database management systems such as DB2, IMS, SQL Server, Hive, Informix, Cassandra, Cosmos DB,Solr, and Teradata; developing, testing, installing, and supporting software solutions using mainframe technologies such as COBOL,Easytrieve, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and CA7; documenting technical solution design to capture detailed information about the project’s technology stack and integration with interfacing software systems; designing and developing data migration solutions to load data from on-prem servers and databases to Cloud platform; and working with tools and utilities such as SFTP, Alteryx, QMF,DBeaver, WinSCP, FileZilla, Jira, and ServiceNow.Employerwill accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
