The Opportunity
In this role, you will support the Grid Automation business at Hitachi Energy by designing and delivering data management solutions that enable electricity market operations, power system analysis, and real‑time control. You will work closely with customers and internal teams to understand engineering, business, and software needs, translate those requirements into technically feasible solutions, and contribute across the full software and data engineering lifecycle—from design and development through testing, integration, and documentation.
Your work will directly support the reliability, performance, and operational effectiveness of modern power grids by ensuring that critical electricity market and power system data is processed accurately and efficiently. You will contribute to customer projects that rely on high‑performance, memory‑intensive analytical applications and robust data workflows, while following established engineering and software development practices. Along the way, you will continue to grow your expertise in data management for market operations and power systems, support software releases, and represent Hitachi Energy in technical discussions with customers and industry stakeholders. This role offers exposure to real‑world grid challenges, opportunities to deepen your technical capabilities, and a chance to make a meaningful impact on how electricity systems operate and evolve.

- Support software releases by investigating issues, troubleshooting defects, and driving resolutions to closure.
- Grow and apply data management skills related to electricity market operations, power system analysis, and real‑time control.
- Improve and maintain software development practices and technical documentation.
- Provide technical expertise in internal collaborations, customer meetings, and industry discussions.
- Travel for short periods to support customers and project activities when required.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
