JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Demand Planner is responsible for leading the demand planning process across assigned product portfolios and markets, developing and maintaining accurate demand forecasts that support commercial, manufacturing, inventory, and customer service objectives. This position serves as a key business partner to Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain teams, driving forecast accuracy, inventory optimization, and informed business decision-making through data-driven analysis and participation in the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process. The Senior Demand Planner identifies risks and opportunities, recommends mitigation strategies, and leads continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning processes and forecast performance.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead the monthly demand planning and forecast review process for assigned product portfolios.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve statistical and market-driven forecasts using historical data, commercial intelligence, market trends, and business assumptions.
  • Facilitate collaboration between Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Service, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to achieve forecast consensus.
  • Serve as the demand planning representative within the S&OP process, providing insights on demand trends, risks, opportunities, and inventory implications.
  • Analyze forecast accuracy, forecast bias, inventory performance, and demand variability; develop action plans to improve planning effectiveness.
  • Partner with commercial teams to evaluate new product launches, product lifecycle changes, tenders, and market events impacting demand.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including forecast accuracy, bias, inventory levels, service levels, backorders, and excess/obsolete inventory.
  • Identify supply-demand imbalances and proactively communicate risks and mitigation recommendations to leadership.

Additional Responsibilities and Duties

  • Participate in cross-functional projects supporting business growth, operational excellence, and integration initiatives.
  • Support annual budgeting and strategic planning processes.
  • Collaborate with divisional planning teams to ensure alignment of assumptions and planning methodologies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations Management, Statistics, Economics, or related field.
  • 5+ years Experience in demand planning, supply chain planning, forecasting, inventory management, S&OP, or related supply chain functions.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex product portfolios and forecasting processes in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience within medical diagnostics, medical devices, biotechnology, life sciences, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industries.
  • Experience working in global and matrixed organizations.
  • APICS/ASCM Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM)
  • ASCM Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
  • IBF Certified Professional Forecaster (CPF)
  • Advanced knowledge of demand planning, forecasting methodologies, inventory management, and S&OP processes.
  • Strong statistical analysis and forecasting skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and forecasting/planning systems.
  • Experience with ERP platforms such as SAP.
  • Ability to analyze large data sets and translate insights into actionable business recommendations.
  • Strong project management and process improvement skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Strong business acumen and financial understanding.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive organizational alignment.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulated business environments.
  • Travel up to 20%

Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable. The salary range for this position is $97,800 - $118,600 annually. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. Beyond base salary, Diasorin offers a competitive rewards package focused on your overall well-being.
