Work Arrangement

This role is categorized asremoteorhybrid to Warren, MI or Sunnyvale, CA or Mountain View, CA. Remote candidateswillbe considered.

  • If you live within 50 miles of a GM hub location (San Francisco Bay Area, CA or Warren, MI), you are expected to report to the office three times per week, or other frequency dictated by the business.

  • If you live outside a 50mile radius of these locations, please still apply.  

This role requires

  • 5+ years of product design experience on mobile, with clearexamplesof shipping real products at scale and full ownership and accountability forpositiveoutcomes

  • Exceptional design craft and execution,demonstratedthrough consistently high-quality interaction and visual work, with deep fluency in Figma

  • Clear evidenceof original, critical thinking in interaction and product design, shown through owned decisions that meaningfully shaped outcomes

  • A collaborative, low-ego mindset paired with strong conviction, open to feedback and iteration, while able to take a stand and own decisions when alignment is needed

  • Adesigner withstrong communicationand storytelling skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design rationale, tradeoffs, and a point of view to cross-functional partners and senior leadership

This role is not for

  • Pixel executors.We’relooking for designers whoownproblems, challenge assumptions, and shape solutions through deliberate design decisions, whether at the system level or through high-impact incremental details

  • Strategy-only designers orwireframers. This role requires strong craft and the ability to deliver fully resolved, build-ready designs

  • Designerslookingfor simple or isolated problems. Weoperatein sophisticated, constraint-heavy ecosystems that require comfort translating technical, business, and system complexity (vehicle platforms, services, hardware dependencies) into clear, intuitive mobile experiences

Nice to have, but not

  • Experience designing for automotive, connected products, or large-scale ecosystems, or experience working at a world-class technology company

  • Experience withanimation & prototyping software likeProtopie, Rive, Lovable

Compensation:

  • The expected base compensation for this role is: ($106,600-163,400). Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
