About the Role
We are hiring a Senior Director, Supply Chain Planning & Procurement to build and scale Nscale’s end-to-end hardware planning, procurement, inventory, and production scheduling capabilities.
Reporting to the SVP of Supply Chain, this executive leader will drive operational reliability across all hardware builds, ensure on-time delivery, unify planning processes across sites, and oversee procurement execution across all hardware categories — including expanding management of IT equipment.
You will lead a high-performing team of planners, schedulers, buyers, and procurement leaders (6–12 team members), ensuring that the right materials arrive at the right place, at the right time — with appropriate buffers — while enabling rapid company scale.
This role is critical to supporting Nscale’s global AI infrastructure expansion and hyperscale growth trajectory.
What you'll be doing
Planning & Execution Leadership
Own the end-to-end supply chain planning process for all hardware builds, including capacity planning, material planning, demand/supply matching, and production scheduling.
Ensure on-time delivery across all builds through structured buffers, lead-time modeling, and proactive risk mitigation.
Build and implement standardized planning processes across multiple sites and product lines.
Oversee planning for both core hardware infrastructure and expanding IT equipment requirements.
Procurement & Purchasing Management
Lead the procurement function responsible for all purchase order (PO) execution, supplier confirmation, expediting, and PO lifecycle management.
Ensure timely PO issuance and compliance with financial controls through close partnership with Finance.
Drive supplier performance across cost, delivery, and quality in coordination with Strategic Sourcing.
Build Schedule & Inventory Oversight
Own daily and weekly build schedule reviews with internal teams and contract manufacturers.
Ensure appropriate inventory levels, safety stocks, and buffers across global locations.
Monitor inventory accuracy, reconcile discrepancies, and support cycle-count and audit processes.
BOM & Engineering Coordination
Collaborate closely with TPMs and Engineering teams on BOM changes, configuration updates, and new material introductions (NPI).
Ensure planning and procurement processes adapt rapidly to engineering updates and configuration shifts.
Align cross-functional teams to prevent material shortages, schedule slips, or build interruptions.
Operational Rhythm & Cross-Functional Leadership
Establish and maintain a rigorous operational cadence, including S&OP, supply reviews, build meetings, and escalation forums.
Partner with Supply Chain Analytics to integrate forecasts, dashboards, and supply visibility into execution workflows.
Work closely with Strategic Sourcing, Operations, Quality, TPMs, and Data Center Run teams to ensure execution meets company goals.
Risk Management & Continuous Improvement
Identify supply risks (capacity constraints, inventory gaps, supplier limitations) and drive early mitigation plans.
Implement and track KPIs across service levels, supplier performance, inventory turns, and schedule adherence.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and reduce supply-related delays.
About You
12+ years of experience in supply chain planning, procurement, production control, or hardware operations.
Deep expertise with MRP/ERP systems, advanced planning tools, and build scheduling environments.
Experience leading global planning or procurement teams in hardware, semiconductors, infrastructure, manufacturing, or high-tech industries.
Proven success improving on-time delivery, inventory performance, and supplier execution.
Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.
Experience supporting rapid growth in hardware-centric or AI/cloud infrastructure environments is highly desirable.
Familiarity with forecasting, control-tower programs, and advanced planning tools (e.g., Kinaxis, O9, Anaplan, SAP IBP).
Experience coordinating with TPMs on BOM management and configuration control.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in supply chain, engineering, operations, business, or related field.
