Job Description

Under general supervision, creates clinically acceptable treatment plans at the request of the Radiation Oncologist for patients receiving radiation treatments.

Education:

Completion of a JRCERT approved school for medical dosimetry or radiation therapy.

Licensures/Certifications:

Certified (CMD)

Experience:

Minimum 5 years dosimetry experience.

Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of equipment operations, radiation physics, radiobiology, anatomy and physiology, quality assurance, and patient care technique
  • Skill in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Ability to prepare and calculate computer plans for patients on treatment machines and for patients receiving brachytherapy.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Generates computerized treatment plan options according to the physicians treatment prescription.
  • Checks all patient treatment charts for correct transfer and entry of treatment parameters and doses.
  • Calculates does distributions for interstitial and intracavitary implants
  • Assists as needed the Radiation Therapist during simulation and initial treatment to assure correct positioning of patients and radiation beam positioning as required by the treatment plan.
  • Transfers treatment and filed information to Record and verify system either manually or via diacom transfer.
  • Provides physics support to the medical physicist.
  • Assisting radiation protection
  • Measures, equipment calibrations
  • Performance of radiation quality management and quality assurance practices

Working Conditions

  • Normal patient care environment with little exposure to noise and dust.
  • Frequent exposure to radiation with little chance of injury when established safety procedures are followed.

Pay Range

$43.39 - $78.10

Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
