Senior Electrical Engineer – Ownership Path

This is more than just another engineering role — it’s a leadership track with ownership potential. Harrell Design Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer who is both technically strong and entrepreneurial. Within 2–5 years, this role offers the pathway to principal ownership.
As a senior leader, you will not only direct complex projects but also mentor future engineers, shape client relationships, and contribute to the firm’s long-term growth strategy.
What You’ll Do
Lead Electrical Design: Oversee electrical design for complex projects in healthcare, institutional, lab, and multifamily sectors.
Mentor & Develop Talent: Guide junior engineers and foster cross-discipline collaboration.
Client Leadership: Build and sustain relationships, ensuring high-quality project outcomes and repeat business.
Project Management: Manage projects from concept through construction, balancing budgets, schedules, and technical quality.
Strategic Leadership: Partner with firm leadership on business development, client engagement, and long-term strategy.
Field Involvement: Visit project sites (approx. 1–2 days every other month) to ensure design intent is successfully implemented.
What We’re Looking For
PE License: Active Professional Engineer (PE) required.
Experience: 8–10+ years of electrical engineering experience, with emphasis on healthcare, institutional, lab, or multifamily projects.
Leadership Skills: Proven experience mentoring teams and leading technical design efforts.
Client Focus: Strong ability to manage expectations, deliver results, and build lasting trust.
Collaborative Mindset: Comfortable working across MEP disciplines in a team-oriented culture.
