Job Description

A growing electrical contractor delivering complex commercial, industrial, marine, and federal projects, is seeking a Senior Electrical Project Manager- Federal & Commercial to join their team in Tacoma, Washington. This is a high-impact role for an experienced PM who can independently manage multiple multi-million-dollar projects, partner closely with estimating and field leadership, and keep complex work organized, profitable, compliant, and moving forward.

What You'll Do as the Senior Electrical Project Manager- Federal & Commercial:

  • Manage approximately 4-6 concurrent commercial, industrial, and federal electrical projects
  • Take projects from estimating turnover and award through final closeout
  • Manage project values generally ranging from approximately $1 million-$15 million or more
  • Own budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, profitability, and financial reporting
  • Develop and maintain project schedules
  • Coordinate manpower planning with General Foremen, Lead Foremen, and field leadership
  • Manage procurement and major material requirements
  • Prepare, review, and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contract modifications
  • Maintain the documentation required to support payment and protect project entitlement
  • Manage federal project documentation and agency-specific compliance requirements
  • Coordinate with federal owners, General Contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
  • Work closely with accounting on billing, cost reporting, and project financials
  • Monitor project risks and identify potential problems before they become major issues
  • Lead project meetings and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Visit jobsites regularly to stay connected to field progress and project needs
  • Support projects involving commercial facilities, industrial systems, military installations, marine environments, medium-voltage systems, controls, and specialized infrastructure
  • Drive project closeout, documentation, turnover, and final financial resolution
  • Operate with a high level of autonomy while partnering closely with division leadership

Must-Haves as the Senior Electrical Project Manager- Federal & Commercial:

  • 7-10+ years of relevant construction or Project Management experience preferred
  • Proven ability to independently manage multiple complex construction projects
  • Experience managing multi-million-dollar projects
  • Strong commercial, industrial, electrical, federal, or similarly complex construction background
  • Strong project financial management skills
  • Experience with budgets, forecasting, cost control, billing, procurement, and change management
  • Experience managing RFIs, submittals, modifications, closeout, and project documentation
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage several projects and competing priorities simultaneously
  • Experience coordinating directly with field leadership and Foremen
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills
  • Ability to work independently without significant day-to-day hand-holding
  • Comfortable working in a smaller, entrepreneurial contractor environment
  • Ability to meet background and security requirements for work at military or federal facilities
  • Willingness to work 100% onsite in Tacoma
  • Willingness to travel to project locations as needed

  • Marine electrical experience
  • Controls or specialized infrastructure experience
  • Experience managing projects in Alaska or Hawaii
  • Washington 01 electrical license
  • Military service
  • GC-side federal Project Management experience with significant electrical scope responsibility
  • Bluebeam experience
  • Accubid experience
  • Foundation or ProjectHQ experience

  • Target base salary of approximately $130,000-$180,000 (Flexibility to go up depending on experience)
