Position Overview

Responsibilities

  • Partner with other electro-optical engineers through all phases of new product development and new product introduction.
  • Responsible for developing functional test software architectures, methods, requirements, and executable code for calibrating and testing new state-of-the-art undersea communication equipment.
  • Collaborate with the design engineers to conceive, set-up, and run experiments to test new fiber optic amplifiers, ROADM, and high voltage equipment designs and firmware operation.
  • Devise and refine accurate and reliable electro-optic test methods, test systems, and procedures. This work will involve data acquisition, equipment/platforms, test equipment, automation, and the development of software for certification of subsea products in a production environment.
  • Later in the design phase, be involved in the transfer of new products, software, and certification methods into our manufacturing center, while collaborating with production engineers and equipment designers.
  • Provide troubleshooting skills to investigate both hardware and software issues as necessary.
  • Support continuing process improvements and value engineering actions to reduce manufacturing costs.
