Website SummaryJoin trak group in partnering with a growing client seeking a Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to provide technical leadership across electrical, instrumentation, controls, reliability, and capital project initiatives. This role serves as the site subject matter expert for E&I systems, driving equipment reliability, process improvements, automation, and safe project execution within a complex industrial manufacturing environment.The Senior E&I Engineer will lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis, optimize preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, manage capital projects, and support PLC/DCS and instrumentation improvements. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer with a strong background in chemical, petrochemical, or PSM-regulated manufacturing environments. Responsibilities
- Lead complex troubleshooting and root cause analysis for electrical and instrumentation failures.
- Develop site-wide reliability strategies to improve equipment uptime and reduce maintenance costs.
- Optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs for critical E&I assets.
- Lead capital and expense projects involving electrical distribution, instrumentation, controls, and automation.
- Develop project scopes, technical specifications, budgets, and cost estimates.
- Manage contractors, vendors, and outside engineering resources.
- Oversee equipment installation, commissioning, startup, and performance validation.
- Design, specify, and optimize instrumentation for flow, pressure, temperature, analytical, and other process applications.
- Support and enhance PLC and DCS systems to improve process control and operational performance.
- Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to identify and implement control system improvements.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA, NEC, OSHA, and Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements.
- Lead or support Management of Change (MOC), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), and incident investigations.
- Maintain and improve site E&I engineering standards, procedures, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Drive automation, digitalization, reliability, and energy-efficiency initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, technicians, and maintenance personnel.
- Serve as the site's E&I subject matter expert.
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- 810 years of Electrical & Instrumentation engineering experience.
- Experience within a chemical, petrochemical, or industrial manufacturing environment.
- Experience working within a PSM-regulated facility.
- Strong knowledge of electrical distribution, motor controls, power systems, instrumentation, and automation.
- Experience with PLC and DCS systems.
- Proven experience leading capital projects from scope development through commissioning and startup.
- Strong reliability engineering, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis experience.
- Working knowledge of NFPA, NEC, OSHA, and PSM requirements.
- Experience with MOC, PHA, and incident investigation processes.
- Ability to lead contractors, vendors, technical teams, and cross-functional projects.
- Strong leadership, communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Honeywell, and/or DeltaV controls platforms.
- Knowledge of hazardous area classifications, including Class I, Division I/II.
- Experience with advanced process control and automation.
- Digitalization and smart manufacturing initiative experience.
- Energy-efficiency improvement experience.
- Experience developing and optimizing predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
