Position Summary:

The Senior HSE Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing the Health, Safety, and Environmental function, driving efficiency throughout the risk assessment, compliance, and incident response processes. This leader will oversee continuous improvement initiatives across all HSE platforms, delivering effective team leadership, HSE enablement, and cross-functional coordination across the entire HSE team and broader organization.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop local health and safety policies and objectives that align with organizational strategy and support proactive safety leadership for the Aiken team.
  • Ensure compliance with all HS&E legislation and standards, serving as the primary point of contact for regulatory matters and internal audits.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, implement corrective action measures, and maintain up-to-date emergency response processes across all operations.
  • Act as a liaison between HSE and other internal functions, collaborating with engineering, operations, procurement, aftersales, and finance to enable effective risk management and compliance solutions.
  • Lead process optimization initiatives focused on standardizing HSE procedures, compliance monitoring, and incident management workflows for direct and distributed teams.
  • Track HSE performance metrics, develop systems for monitoring incidents and near-misses, and identify key performance indicators to drive accountability.
  • Deliver clear and effective presentations to engage teams, improve awareness of HSE objectives, and promote a culture of compliance with the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct.
  • Support global and regional HSE management by providing insights and recommendations that ensure process consistency, stakeholder alignment, and readiness for business continuity and crisis management.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in Health, Safety, and Environmental, in lieu of a degree, at least 11 years’ experience in HSE
  • Minimum of 2 years in leadership and management roles within HSE function.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Preferred Requirements:

  • MBA is preferred.
  • Prior experience in large equipment or genset manufacturing is required.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in health, safety, and environmental audits.
