As the venture arm of Mass General Brigham, one of the world’s leading medical research institutions, we invest in bold, transformative innovations to improve outcomes and advance patient care worldwide.The RoleThis is a unique opportunity to join a highly collaborative and mission-driven team at the intersection of life sciences, finance, and innovation. As a Senior Finance Associate, you’ll play a key role in supporting the financial and operational success of our portfolio of cutting-edge life science investments. You’ll partner with colleagues across the finance, investment, and investor relations functions—as well as with external administrators, accountants, and banking partners—to ensure smooth execution and reporting for all venture fund activities. Reporting StructureThe Senior Finance Associate reports to the Senior Director of Finance and works closely with other members of the venture capital and innovation teams.Key responsibilities:Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 4-6 years of relevant experience in venture capital, private equity, public accounting, or fund administration required.
- Advanced Excel expertise, including proficiency with complex formulas, data modeling, and financial analysis tools; true Excel power user.
- Strong understanding of venture capital fund structures, including capital call and distribution processes, waterfall modeling, and carried interest calculations.
- Proven ability to build, maintain, and interpret cash flow models and valuation analyses.
- Solid grasp of GAAP accounting principles and fund financial reporting requirements.
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail; proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear, professional communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to distill complex data into concise insights.
- Creative presentation design skills with the ability to develop polished, investor-ready PowerPoint presentations and other visual financial materials.
- Interest or experience in the life sciences sector is preferred—but a passion for innovation and precise financial execution is essential.
