Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration,or related area.
- At least five (5) years of progressively more complex financial analystexperience.
- Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, and complex financialmodeling.
- Solid background in the use of computers specific to accounting systems/modules. Experience with MIP/Abila a plus.
- Advance proficiency in Excel and generation of presentation quality charts,graphs and tables.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and critical-thinking skills with theability to translate data into actionable insights.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Senior Financial Analyst leads complex financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting to guide strategic and operational decisions. The role evaluates financial performance, develops models to project outcomes, and partners with leaders to understand key drivers of revenue, expenses, and margins. It conducts variance analysis, supports budgeting and forecasting processes, and prepares clear, accurate financial reports. Additionally, the analyst identifies opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting efficiency, and overall data quality
- Performs detailed variance analysis of actual results versus budget and forecast, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Analyzes financial data and provides forecasting support to senior leadership and the leadership team to support tactical and strategic decision-making.
- Assists in the budget and forecast process, maintaining budget and forecast information in the accounting system.
- Understands key business drivers, tracks key performance indicators, and prepares reports and projections based on financial data.
- Prepares and presents clear, concise financial reports and dashboards for senior leadership and board-level review.
- Analyzes revenue, expenses, productivity, and margins at the program, department, and organizational level.
- Partners with operational leaders to understand drivers of financial performance and support data-informed decision-making.
- Develops financial models that forecast business outcomes and margins.
- Assists with cost allocation methodologies, rate analysis, and financial assumptions used in cost reports or reimbursement models.
- Identifies process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of financial reporting.
- Prepares monthly unit analysis reports and investigates variances.
- Provides financial guidance to project teams and develops, maintains, and distributes ad hoc reports and financial models as needed.
- Prepares, coordinates, and documents complex financial analysis projects, including financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, working capital, and investments.
- Provides analysis for forward-looking financial and business-related projects.
- Prepares forecasts and analyzes trends in finance, general business conditions, and related areas.
- Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings to senior leadership.
- Conducts special financial and business-related studies and collaborates with other departments in the preparation of analysis.
- Creates and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, ensuring financial information is recorded accurately.
- Performs financial forecasting and reconciliation of accounts.
- Conducts research and analysis as required, assisting with due diligence, financial analysis, and assessment of business viability of grants, contracts, and acquisition targets.
