Job Description
PURPOSEA Senior Fitness Instructor will provide a safe and inclusive community fitness class, designed for all ages, demographics, and fitness levels. This position will assist members with their individual fitness goals within a group fitness format, while maintaining the Core Values of the Ridge Athletic Clubs and assisting the Club in maintaining a clean and welcoming facility.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- High School diploma preferred
- College studies or diploma in a health/fitness related field preferred but not required
Certifications:
- A current primary (or higher) fitness certification by a nationally-recognized organization (ACSM (HFI), AFAA, NASM, NETA, LES MILLS, ACE)
- Current CPR (or higher) and AED certification within 90 days of employment
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in fitness instruction is preferred. Experience may include college internship or supervised instruction program.
- Must be knowledgeable in the most up to date techniques for format and delivery of group fitness programs. This should include teaching experience and the ability to format new, safe, and effective routines.
- Experience in customer service; preferably in an athletic club or service industry, is desirable.
- Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to cue properly, including clear verbal explain on proper equipment usage and exercise technique.
