Real Chemistry is looking for a Senior Group Director of Business Development to join our U.S. - based growth team!
This is a U.S. hybrid role, based in or near one of our U.S. hubs.
We are looking for a senior‑level, strategic, and enterprise‑minded growth leader who can support high‑impact new business pitches, major organic growth opportunities, and capability expansion efforts across our healthcare portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Business Strategy and Growth, this role helps
Guide and elevate the pitch process, ensuring responses are integrated, compelling, and aligned with agency strengths Drive cross-enterprise business development efforts in coordination with capabilities and global markets Lead a matrixed team across markets and capabilities to uplevel and dive outsized performance. Develop content, tools, and scalable processes in partnership with corporate and capability teams.
This is a highly visible role within Real Chemistry’s growth leadership team, with a clear mandate to drive revenue, increase win-rate, create scalable approaches, and ensure Real Chemistry’s remains aligned with evolving market needs across pharmaceutical, biotech, and life sciences sectors.
What you’ll do:
Partner with Client Leads, Growth Leaders, and cross‑functional teams to lead and support key parts of the pitch process from RFI/RFP through final presentation.
Partner with leadership on organizational implementation and rollout of new business development processes, tools, and capability models.
Connect capabilities and teams across U.S. and global business development efforts to ensure integrated, cohesive, and differentiated points of view.
Translate client briefs into strategic frameworks and pitch narratives that align with client needs and Real Chemistry capabilities.
Prioritize business development and RFx efforts and responses. Manage timelines, deliverables, and workflows across multiple workstreams.
Keep senior stakeholders informed of progress, risks, and resource needs.
Support the development of pitch materials including proposals, decks, videos, and presentations.
Drive post‑pitch debriefs and help capture learnings to strengthen future processes.
Contribute to tracking win rates, performance trends, and pitch learnings.
Lead hybrid team management and development—including mentoring, capability uplift, performance support, and cross‑functional team alignment.

What you should have:
12+ years in an advertising, communications, or integrated marketing agency environment, ideally with healthcare experience.
Strong network and aptitude for net‑new lead and opportunity generation.
Ability to navigate across complex hybrid organizations and markets to centralize and coordinate business development efforts.
Experience leading successful pitches in a fast‑paced agency setting.
Strong storytelling, writing, and presentation skills.
Solid understanding of integrated marketing, communications, medical, and activation
Deep healthcare industry experience and expertise across biopharma, systems, device, and wellness
Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working across disciplines.
Highly organized and calm under pressure, with the ability to manage multiple high‑stakes projects.
Familiarity with new business reporting or performance‑tracking tools.
Understanding of healthcare industry trends and competitive landscapes.
Demonstrated experience in hybrid team leadership, capability development, and organizational implementation.
Experience partnering with executive leaders to drive enterprise growth initiatives.
Pay Range: $215,000-$235,000K
This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications, and geographical location. Working with Real HART: Since the pandemic, we have adapted to how our people told us they want to work. We have office locations in cities in the US, UK, and Europe with many employees and clients that serve as hubs where and when they need us.For employees who are within an hour of one of our offices, we expect attendance in the office two days per week, either at a Real Chemistry office or onsite with clients. We are also actively opening new office locations, so if one opens near you, our Real HART policy will apply. We are not looking for attendance for the sake of attendance but believe that the opportunity to coordinate in-office team meetings, 1:1 meetings with managers, taking advantage of on-site learning, and connecting with client partners is a critical to delivering on our purpose of making healthcare what it should be.Outside of these offices, we have regions, where people work remotely but come together quarterly for collaboration, culture and learning opportunities.
