Job Description

PerkinElmer is seeking a Senior HR Business Partner to support our OneSource Service business at a critical customer account in the Richmond, VA area. This is an onsite role, embedded within the client account team, serving as the primary HR point of contact for that population.

The Senior HR Business Partner will build strong, trusted partnerships with onsite business leaders and managers, championing cultural engagement, guiding leaders and employees through organizational change, and resolving employee relations matters with sound judgment. This individual will also collaborate with PerkinElmer’s HR Centers of Excellence in Talent Acquisition and Total Rewards, and will act as a key stakeholder partner across the client relationship, the broader HR team, and business leadership to deliver a full range of HR services that support engagement, retention, and business performance.

Location: On Site M-F at the Richmond, VA office

Job Responsibilities:

Culture

  • Champion a positive, inclusive culture and lead communications that reinforce it throughout the client organization; partner with managers to maximize team performance and reduce complexity.
  • Serve as a visible, trusted presence onsite, building rapport with employees and leadership to strengthen engagement and morale.

Change Management

  • Guide leaders and employees through organizational change, translating business shifts into clear, well sequenced communication and action plans.
  • Act as a change champion who builds organizational capability, helping managers adopt new processes, structures, or ways of working with minimal disruption.

Talent and Recruitment

  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition Center of Excellence to recruit top talent and track progress against hiring goals.
  • Participate in interviews, provide hiring recommendations, and give feedback on candidates.
  • Work with leaders to ensure offer approval and headcount requisition processes are followed as outlined.
  • Support talent reviews, organizational design discussions, and performance improvement and coaching conversations.
  • Identify and help implement development activities that meet individual, team, and organizational needs.

Employee Relations

  • Build strong, collaborative partnerships with client and business leaders to drive HR initiatives that support the overall business strategy.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on performance management, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and day to day HR issues.
  • Investigate and resolve employee relations matters in a timely, consistent manner, exercising sound judgment and discretion.
  • Champion employee engagement and retention initiatives at the account level.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Partner with the Total Rewards Center of Excellence on compensation plans, salary planning, performance management, and recognition programs aligned with organizational goals.
  • Provide support in salary benchmarking and other compensation reviews and discussions with managers.

Compliance and Policy

  • Help ensure the client site adheres to applicable federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
  • Support company policies and processes, ensuring alignment with business goals and identifying areas for improvement.

Stakeholder Management and Partnership

  • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for the client account, balancing the needs of the customer relationship, PerkinElmer leadership, and employees.
  • Collaborate across the global PerkinElmer HR matrix, including HR Centers of Excellence and the HR Program Management Office, to bring the right resources to the client group.
  • Align leaders on key people priorities to drive consistent application of HR practices and increase manager self reliance.
  • Maintain training and compliance in areas of health and safety, security, environmental and operational aspects of daily activities in the working environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college, plus 6+ years of progressive human resources experience, including organizational development, talent management, or workforce planning in a fast paced, high growth environment OR Equivalent combination of education and progressive human resources experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for the role.
  • 5+ years of experience partnering with commercial or service leaders to elevate workforce performance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success building cultural engagement, with the ability to connect authentically with employees onsite and reinforce a positive, inclusive work environment.
  • Strong change management background, with proven experience leading people through organizational change in a complex, matrix, goal driven environment.
  • Track record of resolving employee relations matters with strong knowledge of labor laws, HR best practices, and HRIS systems.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and partnership skills, with the ability to balance client, business, and employee needs across a matrixed relationship.
  • Confidence to voice opinions and ideas to leadership, along with the ability to support and coach leaders when appropriate.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, coupled with excellent judgment and perspective on human resources issues.
  • Clear and concise communication style with strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Self starter who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty and thrives in a fast paced, client facing environment.

Working Environment:

  • Must be able to work in a laboratory, controlled environments requiring personal protective equipment (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses, etc.) in laboratory. 
  • Job pace may be fast and job completion demands may be high. 
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than 25% of the time 
  • The person needs to occasionally move between labs, corridors, adjoining rooms, and buildings onsite
  • Occasionally move or lift up to 25 pounds (potential for occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds). 
  • Operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

The annual compensation range for this full-time position is $95,000to $115,000. The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, as well as individual qualifications, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
