Job Description

ARS is currently looking for a Senior Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support implementation and execution of the Department of Defense Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and cybersecurity compliance activities across assigned systems and programs.
  • Assist with Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) activities and lifecycle cybersecurity support from system concept development through decommissioning.
  • Support compliance with DoD, USAF, and MAJCOM cybersecurity policies, standards, and directives, including RMF, JSIG, NIST 800-53, and related security guidance.
  • Assist in developing, reviewing, updating, and coordinating cybersecurity documentation and artifacts, including:
    • System Security Plans (SSPs)
    • Information Assurance Strategies (IASs)
    • Information Assurance Plans (IAPs)
    • Program Protection Plans (PPPs)
    • Interconnection Security Agreements (ISAs)
    • Security assessments and mitigation strategies
    • Continuous Monitoring documentation
    • Configuration Management reviews
    • Verification and Validation (V&V) testing documentation
  • Support cybersecurity engineering activities including architectural design, functional specifications, interface development, and hardware/software documentation.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and provide recommendations to protect systems and applications from threats such as unauthorized access, denial-of-service attacks, malware, espionage, and destructive applications.
  • Assist in evaluating security software, hardware, firmware, and technical implementations to ensure confidentiality, integrity, availability, accountability, and non-repudiation requirements are met.
  • Support system monitoring, incident reporting, access control management, and cybersecurity operations in accordance with applicable Air Force and DoD guidance.
  • Assist in identifying, documenting, and resolving automation, networking, and information system security issues.
  • Support database, data processing, telecommunications, and computer system development, integration, testing, and maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate cybersecurity and information assurance activities between developers, user communities, program management offices, and integrated product teams.
  • Prepare reports, analyses, recommendations, and corrective action plans related to cybersecurity, information assurance, and program security activities.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must have an active Secret Clearance
  • Working knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DoD cybersecurity compliance processes.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, information systems concepts, telecommunications systems, operating environments, and system architectures.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity control families, system hardening, configuration management, vulnerability assessment, and continuous monitoring practices.
  • Experience supporting or developing RMF artifacts and cybersecurity documentation such as SSPs, ISAs, IAPs, IASs, and mitigation plans.
