Senior Interior Designer | Newport, Rhode Island | In-office/Hybrid Working Style - Travel to Project Sites
We are hiring on behalf of our client, a highly regarded residential interior design studio known for creating refined, detail-rich interiors for discerning clients. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Interior Designer to lead complex, large-scale residential projects while collaborating closely with the Principal Designer and a talented, passionate studio team.

What Youll Do
- Lead the full design lifecycle for complex, high-end residential projectsfrom concept development through final installation
- Partner with the Principal Designer on creative visioning, design direction, and project planning
- Source and specify FF&E, finishes, custom furniture, and artisanal materials with a strong eye for detail and quality
- Liaise with architects, builders, fabricators, and vendors to ensure cohesive, fully realized interiors
- Maintain and manage project schedules, budgets, reporting, and client invoicing with a focus on high-impact, high-margin outcomes
- Develop and implement internal design systems, standards, and organizational tools to support studio efficiency
- Lead internal project teams, delegate effectively, and ensure accountability to deadlinesboth internal and external
- Attend and travel to project site visits, client meetings, and FF&E installations as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related fieldor 7+ years of direct, hands-on experience in a senior-level role
- 7+ years of experience at a high-end residential design firm, with demonstrated project leadership and vendor relationships
- Exceptional design sensibility, supported by a portfolio showcasing refined, custom interiors and high-level execution
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite; ID Nest experience is a plus
- Comfort and fluency with modern technology, including AI tools, ChatGPT, and video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Teams, etc.)
- Excellent communication, presentation, and team leadership skills
- Strong organizational abilities and a genuine interest in process improvement
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships with clients, builders, architects, and project partners
