Overview
Job Description
- Start up, inspect, and maintain utility and production support equipment, performing daily and weekly checks.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues, making adjustments and repairs to minimize production impact.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on complex systems including:
- Solvent recovery and peptone concentration systems
- Boilers and water systems (PW/WFI)
- Freeze dryers and other critical manufacturing equipment
- Fire and security systems
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate controls and instrumentation for mechanical, electrical, and HVAC/refrigeration systems.
- Conduct system tests and technical analyses to support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve complex technical challenges.
- Adhere to regulatory, safety, and quality standards at all times.
- Equipment and systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.
- Preventive maintenance is completed accurately and on schedule.
- Technical issues are resolved proactively, minimizing disruption.
- Compliance with cGMP, SOPs, and safety standards is consistently achieved.
- Team members and stakeholders rely on you for advanced technical expertise and problem-solving.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- 2+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in at least one area (mechanical systems, HVAC, or refrigeration)
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production and utility equipment
- Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 40–50 lbs and working in varied environmental conditions
- 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or regulated manufacturing
- Technical certifications such as ISA, CCST Level 2, Certified Instrumentation Technician, Certified HVAC/Refrigeration Technician, or Licensed Journeyman Electrician
- 1st Class Boiler’s License or Universal Refrigeration License
- Coursework or technical training beyond high school
