Role summary: The Senior Manager, Design and Construction - DS, leads the planning and execution of multiple construction projects, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and quality standards. The position requires strong leadership to guide teams, resolve conflicts, and drive continuous improvement while supporting operational goals. The manager also fosters effective communication with stakeholders and oversees risk management to deliver high-quality projects that align with company values and operational needs. About the team: The team leads remodel construction projects for existing stores, ensuring budgets and schedules are met while maintaining high-quality standards. They collaborate closely with contractors, facility management, and cross-functional partners to minimize operational impact and resolve construction challenges. Focused on effective communication and risk management, the team drives project success from planning through completion. They emphasize continuous development, coaching, and leadership to build a strong, performance-driven environment. Committed to integrity and compliance, the team supports company values and operational excellence to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective construction solutions. What you'll do:- Oversee construction budgets by reviewing preconstruction estimates, tracking reports, and approving payments, change orders, and invoices.
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations by establishing performance standards and managing contractor adherence.
- Manage multiple construction projects, coordinating schedules, resolving conflicts, and representing the company with public officials.
- Collaborate with facility management to align project scope and timelines, minimizing operational impact.
- Monitor site progress and quality to meet design specifications and resolve outstanding issues.
- Lead and develop teams through training, mentoring, and performance management.
- Drive continuous improvement by evaluating plans, removing obstacles, and supporting learning initiatives.
- Expected travel 75% within the US
- Extensive experience in construction and project management, including budget oversight and contract administration.
- Proven ability to manage multiple construction projects, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and quality standards.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and developing teams to achieve performance goals.
- Expertise in risk management, problem-solving, and conflict resolution within complex project environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to coordinate cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in financial management, scheduling, and quality control to deliver projects on time and within budget.
