Position Summary...
What you'll do...
Position Summary As a Senior Manager, you will serve as a strategic leader responsible for the long-term vision and digital transformation of Walmart’s physical assets. Operating within the Digital Enablement team, you will oversee the enterprise asset strategy for refrigeration, HVAC, and lighting controls across all retail facilities. You will define the roadmap for integrating hardware-agnostic, connected systems, ensuring that facilities are not only digitally enabled but also optimized for the entire asset lifecycle. This role requires a high-level focus on strategic planning and the orchestration of complex partnerships to drive advanced telemetry and condition-based monitoring at scale. What You’ll Do- Digital Asset Strategy: Lead the end-to-end strategic development and execution of Walmart's Refrigeration, HVAC, and Lighting asset digital transformation.
- Large-Scale Capital Planning: Oversee the capital planning and execution of building management upgrades, specifically managing the transition of approximately 1,300 retail store controllers annually from obsolete hardware to modern technologies.
- Controls & Network Governance: Manage the development of asset controls standards, specifications, and network architectures to ensure secure data flow and drive asset uptime and reliability.
- Cross-Functional Orchestration: Coordinate and collaborate cross-functionally with Global Tech, Product Development, Facilities Asset Strategy, and Sourcing to maximize uptime and reduce total cost of ownership.
- Telemetry & Optimization: Define condition-based monitoring rules and telemetry requirements to support predictive maintenance and AI-driven optimization.
- Strategic Negotiations: Lead controls vendor negotiations, oversee SLA performance, and track KPIs to ensure high-performance validation across the facility asset portfolio.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Architecture, or a related technical field and 6 years’ experience in facilities management, operations management, or related area.
- OR8 years’ experience in engineering, facilities management, operations management, or related area.
- 2 years’ of supervisory experience leading teams or managing technical specialists.
- 10+ years of experience in facility management or asset management, with a specific focus on refrigeration, HVAC, and lighting controls.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale technology upgrades and digital transformation initiatives, including the integration of IoT and AI.
- Expertise in developing and executing digital strategies that integrate hardware-agnostic, connected systems into digital twin frameworks.
- Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or Mathematics.
