Job Description

The Senior Manager, Human Resources serves as a trusted strategic advisor to business leaders, providing consultative human resources support that enables organizational effectiveness, leadership capability, workforce planning, talent development, employee relations, and change management. This role operates with a high degree of independence, proactively identifying opportunities and risks, influencing business decisions, and delivering practical HR solutions aligned with organizational priorities. Reporting to the Senior Director, Human Resources, the Senior Manager, Human Resources leads and develops an HR Coordinator, while fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and service-oriented culture. This role partners closely with leaders across the organization to execute people strategies that support business objectives and enhance the overall employee experience.This position is a full-time, on-site role in Augusta, GA.

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Consult with leaders on organizational design and team effectiveness.
  • Partner with leaders on key initiatives in support of the employee experience. Ensure the employee experience is designed and delivered for Augusta National employees.
  • Lead workforce planning efforts by identifying capabilities gaps, creating proposed staffing models and organization charts, and ensuring all aspects of the Workforce Planning process are executed in partnership with the business.
  • Manage Club-wide performance management process, ensuring regular coaching check-ins between managers and direct reports, and assisting leaders with the performance appraisal and calibration phases.
  • Support the talent development process by working with leaders to identify needed competencies, required experiences and necessary network connections for employees. Create and drive talent development plans.
  • Manage the intake, review, approval and staging phases for promotions in partnership with business leaders.
  • Investigate and resolve employee relations issues. Serve as the primary advisor to leaders on complex employee matters, balancing business objectives, legal compliance, organizational culture, and employee experience while exercising sound judgment and maintaining appropriate risk management.
  • Guide the transition process for employees departing the organization, including knowledge transition, offboarding activities, and exit interviews.
  • Accountable for effective financial management, including the allocation of payroll and management of overtime spend for the team.
  • Participate in various project teams and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Support HR leadership to analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Research and remain current on legislation and employment trends that may impact or benefit our employees.
  • Other projects and duties, as necessary.

Qualifications:

Skills/Knowledge/Attributes:

  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior managers through credibility, sound judgment, and data-driven recommendations.
  • Exercise independent judgment in assessing business situations, recommending solutions, and balancing competing priorities.
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills.
  • Computer skills to include Windows-based applications including Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Understanding of employment and labor laws.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data.

Relative Experience/Education:

  • 5-7 years of progressive Human Resources Business Partner experience with at least 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is required.
  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or other HR certification preferred.

Required License(s):

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and/or successfully completes the Club’s internal motor vehicle training program.

Projected Work Schedule:

Normal work hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
