UCT is looking for a talented Sr Engineering Tech to join us in Phoenix, AZ!
The Senior Manufacturing Engineering Technician supports Quality and Operations in a functional capacity to drive improved yield, delivery, and manufacturing performance in a semiconductor environment. This role performs complex hands‑on work supporting equipment, process development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. Serving as a technical expert, the Senior Engineering Technician partners closely with engineers and operations teams to improve tool performance, yield, reliability, and uptime while ensuring strict adherence to safety, quality, and cleanroom standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide advanced hands‑on technical support for engineering and manufacturing activities, including tool setup, testing, troubleshooting, and modifications.
- Support process development, experiments, and qualification activities under direction of engineering teams.
- Diagnose and resolve complex equipment, process, or integration issues impacting yield, throughput, or reliability.
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with engineering and operational requirements.
- Collect, analyze, and document data related to equipment performance, process results, and experiments.
- Support new equipment installations, upgrades, and technology or process introductions.
- Ensure compliance with cleanroom protocols, safety procedures, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and technical records to support traceability and audits.
- Serve as a technical resource and mentor to junior technicians.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
Minimum Qualifications
Experience as an engineering or manufacturing technician in a semiconductor or advanced manufacturing environment.
Strong hands‑on knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, processes, or systems.
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently.
Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation, procedures, and technical specifications.
Strong problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting process engineering, equipment engineering, or R&D activities in a fab environment.
Familiarity with SPC, data collection, and basic statistical analysis.
Experience supporting new tool qualifications or technology transfers.
Demonstrated success mentoring junior technicians or supporting technical training.
Experience working in high‑volume or 24x7 manufacturing operations.
Education, Certifications, Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or a related discipline.
Technical certifications related to semiconductor equipment, electronics, or maintenance.
Formal training in safety, cleanroom operations, or continuous improvement methodologies.
