Job Description

Position: Senior Media StrategistLocation: Austin, TexasDepartment: MediaReports To: Associate Media Director

About Us:KEN Media LLC (A Bakery Agency Co.) was established in 2022 as an independently owned media agency committed to exceptional results through innovative marketing strategies. We plan and buy across every channel, online and off, and we work shoulder to shoulder with Bakery to build brand cults. Our CPG roster keeps growing, and we need someone who knows how to turn media into velocity on shelf.

Role Overview:

The Senior Media Strategist oversees our media planning and investment work across paid social, search and retail media. You'll manage integrated campaigns on Meta, TikTok, YouTube and Google, and you'll own retail media execution on Amazon Ads and Walmart Connect for our CPG accounts. This is the role for someone who can connect an upper funnel view through to units moving at Walmart, and who gets excited about the messy middle where brand media meets shopper. You'll partner closely with our clients' sales and shopper teams on retailer programs, promotional windows and joint business planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Campaign Management
    • Oversee paid social, search and retail media campaigns including budgeting, pacing and performance monitoring.
    • Manage day to day operations across platforms, including optimization, audience targeting, bidding and placements.
    • Build and run retail media programs on Amazon Ads (Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, DSP) and Walmart Connect (Sponsored Search, onsite display, offsite extensions).
    • Align retail media flighting with client promotional calendars, retailer resets, seasonal windows and distribution changes.
    • Maintain reporting dashboards that support planning and optimization.
    • Partner with creative and content teams so media strategy and assets stay connected, including retailer specific creative and product detail page requirements.
  2. Shopper and Retail Media
    • Translate retailer and category data into media recommendations that move units, not just clicks.
    • Manage keyword strategy, share of voice and competitive conquesting at the item level.
    • Monitor product level performance including ROAS, new to brand, share of shelf, conversion rate and out of stock impact, and adjust investment accordingly.
    • Support joint business planning and trade conversations with media backed rationale.
    • Track retailer platform changes and bring KEN and our clients ahead of them.
  3. Performance Analysis
    • Monitor and analyze campaign performance across digital, retail media and offline channels to find optimization opportunities.
    • Build and present performance reporting with clear insights and recommendations.
    • Use A/B testing, incrementality and attribution modeling to sharpen strategy and lift KPIs.
    • Connect retail media outcomes back to full funnel performance so clients see how brand spend shows up at register.
  4. Client Relationship Management
    • Deliver client facing strategic recommendations grounded in performance data and category trends.
    • Build strong relationships with clients across marketing, sales and shopper teams.
    • Serve as a trusted day to day contact who anticipates needs and brings ideas before being asked.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years managing campaigns across Meta, TikTok and Google Search.
  • Hands on experience with Amazon Ads and Walmart Connect, with a track record of scaling CPG brands profitably.
  • Working knowledge of Google Search, Performance Max and Shopping, plus Meta best practices for growth.
  • Understanding of CPG fundamentals including retailer P&Ls, trade spend, distribution, velocity and syndicated data sources like Nielsen, Circana or retailer portals.
  • Comfortable analyzing data and turning it into smart, strategic decisions.
  • Clear and confident communicator who can make complex ideas land with clients and internal teams.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented, able to run multiple campaigns and retailers at once.
  • Self motivated, proactive, and an inclination in implementing more efficient workstreams.
  • Comfortable owning work independently while knowing when to pull people in.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Instacart, Kroger Precision Marketing, Target Roundel or Criteo.
  • Familiarity with Amazon Marketing Cloud.
  • Agency side experience on CPG or food and beverage brands.

How to Apply:

Interested candidates should submit their resume, cover letter and any relevant case studies. Please include "Sr. Media Strategist – [Your Name]" in the subject line. KEN is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in the workplace.

Benefits

  • Competitive insurance coverage, inclusive of medical, dental, and vision
  • 401k Retirement with 3% employer matching
  • Open PTO Policy
  • 2 weeks Work From Anywhere (WFA)
  • 13 weeks paid Maternity and Paternity leave
  • Pet-Friendly Office
  • Yearly Creative Stipend
