Job Description
Position Overview: The Technologist performs nuclear medicine and PET imaging procedures under the direction of a Radiologist. This role requires independence, sound judgment, and adherence to safety standards. The position involves both scheduled and emergency procedures. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform nuclear medicine and PET imaging procedures without constant supervision.
- Use prescribed ionizing radiation and radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic purposes.
- Ensure radiation safety standards are met at all times.
- Participate in clinical activities, including on-call shifts.
- Handle both routine and emergency imaging cases.
Schedule Options:
- Full-time, Day Shift (1.0 FTE).
- Part-time, Day Shift (0.8 FTE).
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent education/experience.
- One of the following certifications upon hire:
- ARRT Nuclear Medicine Technology.
- NMTCB Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
- Knowledge and experience with established imaging procedures and protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Training in FDG handling and PET scanner operation.
