- Independently prepare original, supplemental, acquisition, drilling, division order, and other oil & gas title opinions involving Texas properties.
- Conduct and oversee comprehensive examinations of mineral and real property records in Texas counties.
- Analyze complex chains of title.
- Analyze deeds, mineral conveyances, reservations, oil & gas leases, assignments, easements, probate proceedings, court orders, liens, judgments, and other instruments affecting title.
- Apply Texas statutes, case law, title standards, and established oil & gas practices to reach well-supported title conclusions.
- Manage multiple title projects simultaneously while meeting demanding production and turnaround deadlines.
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Texas, or eligibility for admission within an agreed timeframe.
- 5+ years of legal experience, with significant experience in oil & gas, mineral title, real estate, or a closely related practice.
- Demonstrated experience preparing, reviewing, or supervising Texas oil & gas title opinions.
- Strong knowledge of Texas mineral and real property law.
- Demonstrated ability to independently analyze complex chains of title and ownership issues.
- Excellent legal research and writing skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
- Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
