Senior Paralegal - Washington, DC
Duration: 12 months, Onsite
We are seeking a Senior Paralegal with strong experience in appellate litigation and legal research.
Day-to-day Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation, organization, and maintenance of appellate briefs and related filings
- Review briefs and appellate filings for formatting compliance, accuracy, and consistency
- Perform citation checking, validate citation accuracy, and ensure Bluebook compliance
- Conduct legal research on statutes, legal authorities, and relevant precedent
- Assist appellate attorneys by identifying relevant authorities and supporting cite-checking requirements
- Conduct quality control reviews of work product, legal references, citations, and filing materials
- Use LexisNexis and internal brief repositories to support research and brief preparation
Required Skills:
- At least two years of litigation paralegal experience or project experience
- Strong experience supporting appellate litigation, including brief preparation and filing support
- Proficiency with citation checking and Bluebook formatting requirements
- Strong legal research skills
- Experience using LexisNexis and legal research databases
- Excellent attention to detail and quality control skills
Education:
- Paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school (completed at least one year), or equivalent level of legal training or experience
