Primary Skills: Payroll Processing-Advanced, Compliance-Intermediate, Workday HRIS-Intermediate, UKGPro -Advanced, Reconciliation-Advanced Contract Type: W2 Duration: 12+ Months Location: San Jose, CA (Hybrid) Pay Range: $35 - $40 per hour. on W2Job Summary:We are seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team, dedicated to flawless payroll processing and compliance across North America, with the potential expansion to global support. The ideal candidate will ensure precise payroll execution using Workday and UKGPro, maintain compliance with both global and local statutory requirements, and provide exceptional employee support while continuously seeking ways to improve processes. This role requires proactive collaboration with internal and external partners to maintain high quality, professionalism, and timeliness in all payroll-related activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct bi-weekly and ad-hoc payroll processing with utmost accuracy using Workday and UKGPro.
- Ensure adherence to global and country-specific statutory requirements, including equity transactions and payroll reporting.
- Facilitate employee and statutory payment processing and reconciliation, maintain accurate payroll documentation, and support internal/external audits.
- Provide superior employee support and resolve payroll inquiries within SLA timelines using ServiceNow.
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation to enhance payroll efficiency and support payroll-related projects and new system implementations.
Must-Have Skills:
- Multi-state payroll experience in a high-volume environment (3,000+ employees).
- Familiarity with multi-state laws, taxes, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
Required Industry Experience:
- Experience in a corporate environment, with a preference for candidates who have worked globally or have the capacity to expand their expertise internationally.
