Job Description
Job DescriptionUnder a pharmacist’s supervision, perform designated technical and clerical tasks associated with the preparation, labeling and delivering of medications, including sterile admixtures, prepackaged or unit dose medications. In addition, performs designated tasks regarding pharmacy quality control, management of pharmacy records, med reconciliation, inventory control and preparations of medication orders. In accordance with accepted national standards, federal and state laws, and hospital/department policies and procedures, a pharmacy technician is responsible for assisting the staff pharmacists and the director of pharmacy in the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy department to assure excellence in patient care. The Senior Pharmacy Technician performs additional functions as assigned by the Pharmacy Director.QualificationsHigh School graduate or equivalentEighteen years of age or olderBasic typing and/or computer skills, preferredPrevious hospital/pharmacy experience, preferredBasic math skillsMust apply for National certification (CPhT) within one year of hiringMust register with the State Board of Pharmacy.
