Job Description
This Senior Plastics Engineer position is a hands‑on manufacturing engineering role focused on improving existing processes and validating new equipment, tooling, and technologies. The role blends applied statistics, structured problem solving, and project leadership to translate customer and product requirements into repeatable, capable manufacturing processes. It is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys working on the manufacturing floor while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The organization operates in a high‑volume, technically complex manufacturing environment and invests heavily in process improvement, engineering rigor, and best‑in‑class production capabilities. Description Responsibilities:Analyze and improve manufacturing processes using applied statistics, Six Sigma tools, and structured problem‑solving methodologies
Plan, execute, and document multi‑phase validation runs to confirm new and existing processes meet performance requirements
Develop and manage project charters, implementation plans, timelines, and resource requirements
Act as a technical liaison between engineering, development, and operations teams
Create product, process, and equipment specifications to ensure manufacturability
Support transfer of new processes into production, including SOP development and operator training
Establish and maintain control plans to sustain process gains over time
Contribute to broader operational excellence and continuous improvement strategies Profile Ideal Candidate:B.S. in Plastics, Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline5+ years of experience in plastics, polymer, textile, or converting manufacturing environments
Strong background in process validation, DOE, SPC, and root cause analysis
