Senior Plumbing Design Technician

Job Summary

Join our team as a Senior Technician responsible for designing and developing industrial plumbing systems. This role involves leading the design, layout, and routing of plumbing systems, ensuring quality and accuracy through expert knowledge of plumbing codes. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to deliver exceptional results. The position is based in Portland, OR, a vibrant city known for its beautiful landscapes, thriving arts scene, and innovative tech industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, layout, and routing of industrial plumbing systems.
• Develop P&IDs, plans, sections, and construction details.
• Perform design tasks across planning, concept, and detailed design phases.
• Coordinate directly with clients, contractors, and internal disciplines.
• Apply expert knowledge of plumbing systems and codes to ensure quality and accuracy.

Note: Occasional travel for onsite work is expected in late 2026.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED.
• 8 years of AutoCAD design experience.
• 4 years of Revit design experience.
• 5 years of industrial plumbing design experience, including layout and routing.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. Plumbing Codes, specifically the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC).

Preferred

• Experience in complex industrial environments such as semiconductor manufacturing, cleanrooms, data centers, or other advanced manufacturing facilities.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Technical or Associate’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Advanced problem-solving, planning, and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to independently execute design packages with minimal supervision.
