The SeniorAnalyst, Regulatory Affairs Policy and Government Relations, plays a pivotalroleindeveloping, maintaining, andrespondingtopoliciesandprogramsthatensuretheorganization'sawarenessofgovernmentallegislationandregulatorymattersimpactingitsoperations. Thisroleisresponsibleforrepresentingandsafeguardingtheorganization'sinterestsinlegislativeproceedingsandthedevelopmentofmarketrulesandprocedures. The incumbentorganizesforumsandgatheringswithgovernmentofficialstofacilitatetheexchangeofideasandinformationonbusinessactivitiesandpotentiallegislationthatmayaffecttheorganization. Additionally, theyserveas a resourceonregulatory and legislativematters relatedto product market and productchanges.This candidate must be located in the Sacramento area.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review, research, analyze, andcommunicatethepotentialimpactofenergypolicyproposalsanddecisionsthatmayimpactdevelopmentofcleanenergy and energy facility operations. 

  • Representandprotecttheorganization'sinterestsinlegislative proceedingsand inthedevelopmentofmarketrulesandprocedures.

  • Work withinternalteams (Development, Commercial, Finance, Operations) toidentifythepolicyanalysisneeds, advocacy priorities,anddetermineimpactsofpotentialpolicyonbusinessoutcomes.

  • Facilitateandsupporttheincorporationofpolicyanalysisintomarketstrategyandoutlook, ensuring a sharedcomprehensionoftheimmediacyoftheimpactoffederal policyrisksandopportunitiesonourshort-termandlong-termportfoliogoals.

  • Monitor industrytrendsanddevelopmentstoidentifypotentialregulatory and legislativerisksandopportunities.Collaboratewithcross-functionalteamstoensure a comprehensiveunderstandingandeffectiveresponsetoregulatoryrequirements.

  • Developmeaningfulcommunicationandnotificationtoolsbestsuitedforvariousprioritiesandstakeholders (bothinternalandexternal)

  • ProvideupdatesoncriticalregulatoryproceedingstoSeniorLeadership teams in a timelymanner. 

  • As appropriateandrequested, fosterandmaintainrelationshipsandprojectcommunicationswithkeypolicymakersanddecisionmakers

  • Represent AESCE atvarioustradeorganization, business, government, andcommunitymeetingsandevents

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’sdegree. DegreeinGovernment, Policy orrelatedfieldstronglypreferred.

  • 3+ years preferred ofrelevant experience working in state government or state agency/regulatory affairs pertaining to energy planning and policy.

  • Strongpreferenceforexperiencewithin CAISO.

  • Microsoft Office skills; strongpresentationskillsandexcellentcommunicationoftechnicalsubjectmatter.

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
