SENIOR PR/SERE High Risk Training Instructor

Position: SENIOR PR/SERE High Risk Training Instructor 

Type:  Full-Time 

Location:  Camp Lejeune, NC 

Travel: 10-15% (Travel to states including CA, FL, NC, SC, TN, VA, ME, and WA; may change per mission need)

Position Summary:  The Senior PR/SERE HRTI delivers and leads advanced phases of SERE training, acts as a mentor for certified and junior instructors, supports the development and improvement of course content, and ensures all participants and staff meet the highest standards of training and conduct. Senior HRTIs play a pivotal role during all training evolutions and instructional evaluations, maintaining the effectiveness and integrity of the PR/SERE program. 

Duties and Responsibilities:  

These services are required to support unique efforts which may require: 

• Lead and instruct SERE courses (academic, field, laboratory)  

• Mentor and evaluate instructors; remediate performance as directed 

• Develop, review, and recommend improvements to curriculum 

• Maintain meticulous training, evaluation, and attendance records 

• Support coach, mentor, and remediate student and staff learning 

• Conduct and document safety/risk management practices 

Required Skills and Abilities:  

• Possess/maintain Secret clearance  

• Ability to obtain/maintain CAC/SIPR token access 

• U.S. Citizenship/Residency required 

• Proficient in English (verbal/written) 

• Strong communication and teamwork skill 

• Must meet all MRTC requirements for Senior Instructor rating (performance and knowledge/skills board-passed) 

• Minimum 12 months conducting independent FSLC SERE training as a Certified HRTI at MARFORSOC 

• Graduate of an approved DoD Instructor Training/Certification Course 

• Minimum 12 months in assigned section conducting HRTI SERE Instructor duties 

• Capability to perform in demanding field and stress environments 

• Willingness to work irregular, extended, or surge hours 

• Meets all requirements of a PR/SERE Certified Instructor 

• Physical fitness that meets or exceeds NAVMC 1553.2 and OF-178 standards 

• Meet instructor physical fitness and medical standards 

Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk, listen, and write. The employee frequently is required to use foot/ankle motions, hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
