  • Compensation Plan: Depending on qualifications/experience, this opportunity can offer up to a base salary of $140,000 plus bonus.

JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Senior Process Engineer:
  • Improves the safety, efficiency, and reliability of production processes and equipment through the application of engineering principles.
  • Facilitates trials, equipment upgrades, and new equipment installations with careful planning, documentation, and communication.
  • Supports production and maintenance through root cause analysis.
Responsibilities:
  • Work with manufacturing departments to improve current production processes. Improvements would include, but not be limited to productivity improvements, set up time reductions, overall efficiencies improvements, and/or scrap reduction initiatives.
  • Assist in providing technical support as it applies to changes to the production process.
  • Work with subsidiary manufacturing departments as liaison to assist in the implementation of suggested improvement to the process and production procedures.
  • Assist with the launches of new and/or different production projects.
  • Specify new equipment and upgrade requirements alongside the maintenance team and third-party vendors.
  • Assess the processability of new products through production scale trials.
  • Commission new lines and equipment.
  • Work with related departments to implement work instructions and routines.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve safety, reliability, and efficiency challenges facing production and maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Industrial Engineering , or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Experience as a Process Engineer or in a related position.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Experience with plastics is a plus – experience with technology of plastics compounding and extruding is a plus.
  • Experience with electrical and mechanical systems is a plus.
  • CAD experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Safety and Environmental Laws is a plus.
  • Experience with Statistical Data Analysis is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with and support multiple departments including R&D, sales, production, production personnel, etc.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to keep information readily available for review.
  • Capable of performing under pressure and keeping track of multiple issues simultaneously.
  • Ability to work different hours to accommodate plant requirements.
