Senior Product Supply NPI Professional- Construction Industries (Peoria, IL)

Caterpillar's Construction Industries Supply Management division is seeking a Senior Product Supply NPI Professional to support the Wheel Loader product group within the Earthmoving Supply Management (EMSM) organization. This role sits at the center of new product introduction (NPI), driving sourcing strategy, supplier readiness, and cross-functional execution to ensure successful product launches.

Additional Information:

  • The primary work location for this role is Peoria, IL.

  • Requirement is to work in the office 5 days a week (full time).

  • Sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • This role might require up to 10% travel mainly domestic.

What You'll Do

  • Lead procurement's execution within the NPI process, ensuring alignment to product quality, velocity, and cost targets.

  • Own and deliver the machine sourcing plan, collaborative parts list, and concurrent product/process plans.

  • Partner with engineering, product groups, and regional NPI leads to define sourcing scope, requirements, and execution strategy.

  • Drive supplier selection and sourcing decisions aligned to category strategies and business objectives.

  • Provide leadership across procurement for New Product/Source Introduction activities, including resource planning and prioritization.

  • Monitor NPI progress, proactively addressing risks and holding teams accountable to timelines, quality standards, and deliverables.

  • Support capital planning activities and ensure procurement readiness for successful product launches.

  • Collaborate across global category teams and suppliers to enable seamless product development and supply chain integration.

Requirement:

  • Degree or equivalent experience.

  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical mindset to identify risks and implement solutions across complex NPI programs.

  • New Product Development (NPD): Working knowledge of NPI/NPD processes and integration with supply chain execution.

  • Procurement: Understanding of sourcing strategies, supplier selection, and procurement operations.

  • Supplier Management- MFG: Proven ability to manage supplier relationships, performance, and readiness.

  • Teamwork & Collaboration: Ability to lead and work across diverse teams toward shared product and business goals.

  • Project Management: Experience coordinating multiple priorities, timelines, and deliverables within NPI programs.

  • Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in sourcing plans, reporting, and execution deliverables.

Top Candidates Will Also Have

  • Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field preferred).

  • Experience in procurement, purchasing, or engineering within manufacturing environments.

  • Strong project or program management experience supporting NPI or product development.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and influence without authority.

  • Experience supporting new product introduction / product launch activities.

  • Familiarity with heavy equipment, earthmoving products, or complex manufacturing systems.

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
