Senior Production Program Manager

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking an experienced Senior Production Program Manager (M level Manager) to support and oversee the United States Air Force (USAF) E-7 Rapid Prototype production activities in the Puget Sound, along with future production planning activities. The role is based in Tukwila, WA

The E-7 is a military variant of the Boeing 737 commercial derivative, designed for advanced surveillance and reconnaissance missions. This role is situated within the Mobility Surveillance and Bombers division and requires a strategic leader with a proven track record in manufacturing and production environments. The successful candidate will report to the Boeing E-7 Production Program Director and will play a key role in ensuring that production processes meet established cost, schedule, and quality targets.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Production Program Management: Lead all Puget Sound E7 USAF production and modification activities in the Puget Sound, and reach back support for the modification ongoing in the UK, ensuring alignment with production performance goals.  Lead modification deployment activities for five additional production aircraft upon contract award in Q1. 
  • New Business: Develop and execute E7 production strategy and production proposal activities, in alignment with new business initiatives. 
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and manage production performance to ensure it meets cost and schedule targets, implementing corrective actions as necessary.  
  • Risk Management: Lead risk, issue, and opportunity management for E7 production and modification programs, proactively identifying and mitigating potential challenges.
  • Customer Engagement: Support and lead USAF E7 customer engagements, providing updates on program status and addressing any concerns.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive operational excellence across all program facets, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Provide leadership to ensure collaboration across operations, production engineering, quality, materials management, industrial engineering, and other functional stakeholders. 
  • DMS Management: Oversee the management of the DMS (Data Management System) to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of production and modification activities. 
  • Leadership: Act as senior production PM and primary point of contact on site in Tukwila, WA for the E-7 program.  Position involves engagement with the E-7 leadership team.  

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience leading or managing projects that involved cross-functional or cross-business unit teams
  • Familiar with Manufacturing Engineering in A/C Mod or production environments
  • The ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Effective communication, organizational and team oriented skills
  • 3+ years of experience in project management and the ability to work on several projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Manufacturing, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain/Material Management, Quality, Supplier Management, Environmental Health and Safety or Information Technology
  • 3+ years of experience in the production, modification, and/or conversion of airplanes
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher

Some travel may be required.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range: $218,450 – $295.550
