Senior Project Manager – Heavy Civil / Utilities & Excavation

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale heavy civil construction projects with a focus on utilities, excavation, and site development. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience managing civil construction projects and a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects from preconstruction through completion.

Responsibilities

Lead projects from preconstruction through final completion
Manage project budgets, schedules, costs, and overall profitability
Oversee project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and field operations
Coordinate with owners, engineers, inspectors, and other project stakeholders
Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project requirements
Manage underground utilities, excavation, grading, and site development projects
Negotiate and manage contracts, change orders, and subcontractor agreements
Monitor project performance and provide regular updates to company leadership
Identify and resolve project issues to keep work moving efficiently
Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget
Mentor and provide leadership to Project Managers and Project Engineers

Qualifications

8+ years of project management experience in heavy civil construction
Strong experience with underground utilities, excavation, grading, and/or site development
Proven ability to manage complex civil construction projects
Strong understanding of project financials, scheduling, estimating, and contract management
Ability to read and interpret civil plans, specifications, and contract documents
Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred but not required
