Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to spearhead a landmark $100M+ AirTrain infrastructure modernization project at Newark Liberty International Airport. You will oversee all phases of this four-year Port Authority contract, ensuring technical precision and safety in a high-traffic aviation environment.

Description

  • Prime Agency Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for Port Authority of NY & NJ (PANYNJ) stakeholders, ensuring full compliance with agency standards and reporting.
  • Project Lifecycle Oversight: Lead the execution of a 4-year, $100M+ aviation infrastructure project from mobilization through final closeout.
  • Financial Management: Direct all project budgeting, cost forecasting, and subcontract negotiations to maintain profitability and schedule.
  • Logistics & Coordination: Manage complex site logistics within an active airport environment, prioritizing zero interruption to airside or landside operations.
  • Safety & Quality Leadership: Enforce rigorous safety protocols and quality control measures specific to transit and heavy civil infrastructure.
  • Team Mentorship: Supervise and develop a dedicated team of Project Engineers, Superintendents, and Administrative staff.

Profile

The successful applicant is a technical expert who thrives in the high-stakes environment of public agency work. You are a strategic thinker who can navigate the bureaucracy of large-scale infrastructure projects while maintaining a focus on field execution.

  • Experience: 8+ years of transit construction experience, with a proven track record of managing projects exceeding $50M.
  • Agency Expertise: Prior experience managing Port Authority (PANYNJ), NJ Transit, or MTA projects is highly preferred.
  • Aviation Knowledge: Familiarity with FAA or airport-specific safety and logistics (SIDA, AOA) is a significant plus.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to command a room of diverse stakeholders.
