Senior Project Manager

What you will be doing:

• Lead medium‑ to large‑scale projects across multiple departments, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
• Drive day‑to‑day project execution, including task management, issue resolution, and risk mitigation.
• Establish and manage project governance structures, including steering committees and working groups.
• Translate business objectives into clear project scopes, deliverables, and success metrics.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure project outcomes support organizational strategy and operational priorities.
• Identify dependencies, constraints, and opportunities to increase efficiency or accelerate delivery.
• Serve as the primary point of communication for project stakeholders, including executives, cross‑functional partners, and external vendors.
• Present project updates, dashboards, and recommendations to senior leaders.
• Facilitate decision‑making by identifying issues, presenting solutions, and securing alignment across teams.
• Proactively identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and escalate issues as needed.
• Maintain documentation of risks, decisions, and change requests.
• Cultivate strong collaboration and alignment across business, operations, and technical teams.
• Provide coaching, mentorship, and support to junior project managers or coordinators as needed.
• Evaluate and improve project management processes, tools, templates, and governance practices.
• Promote best practices, operational excellence, and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.

What you have:

Education, Experience, and Licensing:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Project Management, Operations, or related field.
• 7+ years of project management experience, including leading complex, cross‑functional projects.
• PMP, PgMP, PMI‑ACP, or comparable certification.
• Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, business transformation, and/or operational excellence required.
• Experience in insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries strongly preferred.

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid).
• Exceptional organizational, analytic, and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of project governance, risk management, and control environments.
• Proven ability to utilize metrics, dashboards, and performance data to inform decisions, measure outcomes, and continuously improve project execution.
• Proficient with project management and reporting tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Planner, Smartsheet, Asana).
• Strong ability to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, with a proactive approach to issue resolution and contingency planning.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives.
• Ability to maintain focus and effectiveness in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with insurance operations, claims, underwriting, or regulatory processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications such as Teams, SharePoint, Word, and Excel.
