Job Description
Job Title: Senior Psychologist
Banding: Equivalent to Band 8a
Location: Birmingham
Working Hours: Full or Part-time, Monday to Friday
Salary: £55,880 – £63,487 per annum
Join a leading provider of mental health recovery services in Birmingham, as a Senior Psychologist. This is a unique opportunity to shape and develop the psychology service at a brand-new 23-bed male inpatient unit. You’ll also support service users across our established hospitals delivering high-quality, relationship-centred care.

Responsibilities
As a Senior Psychologist, your role will be dynamic and impactful. You will:
- Deliver specialist psychological assessments and interventions
- Formulate and implement treatment plans for service users with complex mental health needs
- Provide expert consultation and guidance to the multidisciplinary team
- Lead reflective practice sessions and contribute to service development
- Undertake risk assessments and support psychological aspects of risk management
- Champion the SAFE model (Shared Assessment, Formulation and Education) across services

Qualifications and Experience
We welcome applications from candidates who meet most of the following criteria:
- HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist
- Experience working with individuals with severe and enduring mental health diagnoses
- Strong formulation and therapeutic skills
- Ability to work autonomously and within MDT frameworks
- Experience in inpatient or complex care settings is desirable
