Senior Purview Engineer (Multi-Cloud)

Role: Microsoft Purview Technical Implementation SupportLocation: RemoteIntroduction Our federal client is seeking a highly skilled technical professional to provide hands-on implementation support for a Microsoft Purview Proof of Concept (POC). This initiative will evaluate Purview's capabilities as an enterprise-wide data governance, security, and compliance platform. The successful candidate will play a critical role in assessing the platform's ability to support data discovery, classification, and governance across diverse data environments, including Oracle, AWS, Microsoft 365, and Snowflake. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the Zero Trust implementation and responsible AI adoption efforts.

Key Responsibilities: The Microsoft Purview Technical Implementation Support contractor will be responsible for the following:Environment Configuration: Configure the Microsoft Purview account, collections, and scanning infrastructure. Establish and configure connectivity to various data sources, including Oracle databases, AWS services (RDS/Redshift, S3), Microsoft 365, and Snowflake.Data Discovery and Scanning: Configure, execute, and monitor data scans across all connected data sources. Define and manage scan scope, scheduling, and performance parameters to ensure comprehensive data inventory coverage.Data Classification and Labeling: Apply and tune built-in and custom classification rules to accurately identify PII and other sensitive data. Validate classification results with DOL stakeholders and support the integration of sensitivity labels with other tools.Data Catalog and Metadata Management: Populate and maintain the Purview data catalog, configure metadata attributes, and manage business glossary elements. Support data lineage capture and validation to ensure metadata completeness and consistency.Integration and Security: Support the integration of Purview with Zero Trust tools like Zscaler for Data Loss Prevention (DLP) enforcement. Assist in validating data-in-transit and data-at-rest security controls.Performance and Cost Analysis: Monitor system performance, track Purview consumption, and optimize scanning strategies. Support the analysis of the platform's impact on cloud service costs.Issue Resolution: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues related to connectivity, scanning, and classification. Coordinate with Microsoft Professional Services for complex issue resolution and document all issues and their resolutions.Documentation and Reporting: Document all configurations, processes, and implementation steps. Provide weekly status updates and contribute to the final POC findings and recommendations report.Qualifications
