Senior Python Developer (Api/Ai) Banking, Capital Markets & Financial Data Platforms

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Python Developer with 15+ years of software development experience to design, develop, and deliver enterprise-grade applications and APIs supporting mission-critical banking and financial services platforms. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Python development, API architecture, cloud-native technologies, and financial systems while working closely with architects, product owners, business analysts, and engineering teams to build secure, scalable, and high-performance solutions. Experience developing AI-powered applications, Generative AI solutions, or machine learning integrations is highly desirable.Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale Python applications supporting banking, payments, lending, wealth management, trading, or financial services platforms.
• Architect and build secure, scalable RESTful APIs and microservices for internal and external financial applications.
• Develop API integrations with third-party banking platforms, payment gateways, financial data providers, and cloud services.
• Design highly available distributed systems capable of processing high transaction volumes with low latency.
• Build reusable Python frameworks, libraries, and automation tools that improve development productivity and code quality.
• Collaborate with solution architects, product managers, business stakeholders, QA teams, and DevOps engineers throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, security, and reliability across enterprise environments.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and data processing pipelines supporting large financial datasets.
• Participate in architectural reviews, code reviews, and technical design sessions while mentoring senior and junior developers.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated testing to improve deployment quality and software reliability.
• Ensure applications comply with banking security standards, regulatory requirements, and enterprise governance policies.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide technical leadership for mission-critical applications.

Required Qualifications:

• 15+ years of professional software development experience.
• 10+ years of hands-on Python development experience building enterprise applications.
• Extensive experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Strong knowledge of FastAPI, Flask, Django, or similar Python frameworks.
• Experience building secure API authentication using OAuth2, JWT, OpenID Connect, or SAML.
• Strong experience working within Banking, Capital Markets, Payments, Wealth Management, Investment Banking, or Financial Services organizations.
• Deep understanding of object-oriented programming, software architecture, and design patterns.
• Experience integrating enterprise applications through REST APIs, SOAP services, message queues, and event-driven architectures.
• Strong SQL skills with experience using PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or Snowflake.
• Experience with asynchronous programming, multithreading, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, containerized deployments, and microservices architecture.
• Experience using Git, GitHub, Bitbucket, or GitLab for version control.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum development teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience developing AI-powered applications using OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, or other Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Experience integrating AI capabilities into enterprise applications using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, prompt engineering, semantic search, or vector databases.
• Knowledge of machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face, or Scikit-learn.
• Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience working with Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, or other event-streaming technologies.
• Experience building data pipelines using Pandas, NumPy, PySpark, or Apache Spark.
• Familiarity with financial messaging standards including ISO 20022, FIX Protocol, or SWIFT.
• Experience implementing observability using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Splunk.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, encryption, identity management, and secure coding standards.
