Job Title: Senior QA Automation Engineer

Location: Hybrid New York, NY or New Jersey

Tax Term (W2, C2C): W2 / C2C

Job Type (Permanent/Contract): Contract

Duration: 12 Months (Long-Term Contract)

Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer with 8+ years of experience in automation and functional testing within Capital Markets. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Selenium, Java/Python, SQL, API testing, and AI-powered testing tools. Experience with index methodologies, market data, benchmark indices, and real-time financial applications is highly preferred. The role involves developing automation frameworks, validating financial data, supporting Agile delivery, and ensuring high-quality releases for enterprise financial platforms.

Role and Responsibilities:

Perform functional, regression, API, and end-to-end automation testing for Capital Markets applications.
Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks using Java or Python.
Validate market data, reference data, index calculations, ETL pipelines, and database integrity using SQL.
Utilize AI-powered testing tools and GenAI/Agentic AI assistants to improve testing productivity.
Develop test plans, test cases, and automation scripts based on business and technical requirements.
Work closely with Development, Database, Integration, and Business teams in Agile environments.
Manage QA environments, deployments, and release validation activities.
Conduct root cause analysis, defect tracking, and continuous process improvements.
Support testing strategies across multiple integrated applications and systems.
Ensure quality standards for high-volume, low-latency, real-time financial platforms.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience. 8+ years of software testing and QA Automation experience. Strong experience in Selenium, Java or Python, and SQL. Experience with Capital Markets, FinTech, Asset Management, or Portfolio Management. Experience testing market data applications (Equity, Forex, Options) is preferred. Hands-on experience with Cucumber, Selenium WebDriver, and automation frameworks. Knowledge of AWS, Jenkins, Linux/Unix, PL/SQL, and NoSQL databases is preferred. Experience with Carina or Karate frameworks is a plus. Exposure to GenAI tools for software testing is preferred. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
