Job Description

Sustainable Talent is partnering with NVIDIA, a global leader in accelerated computing and AI, to hire a Senior QA Automation Engineer – HD Maps to support autonomous vehicle (AV) mapping platforms based in Santa Clara, CA.

This is a full-time (W-2) contract role offering competitive pay ($40–$60/hr based on experience), full benefits, PTO, and the opportunity to work on cutting-edge AV technologies.

This role supports validation of HD mapping tools used in autonomous vehicle platforms. You will be responsible for testing UI-based map editing systems that enable map operations teams to create, edit, and validate lane-level geospatial data used in AV systems.

The position combines UI automation, geospatial validation, and release testing in a fast-paced, weekly production environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Test HD/SD map editing tools used in autonomous vehicle mapping workflows
  • Create and execute test plans and test cases for UI-based geospatial applications
  • Perform regression, functional, and workflow testing during weekly release cycles
  • Validate lane-level map features, topology, road attributes, and data integrity
  • Develop and maintain Python-based UI automation frameworks to increase test efficiency
  • Identify, document, and triage defects in collaboration with engineering and map operations teams
  • Create release notes and communicate testing outcomes to cross-functional stakeholders
  • Partner with engineering, product, and map operations teams to review and prioritize feature enhancements and bug fixes

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of Software QA experience testing UI-based applications
  • 2+ years of experience in mapping, geospatial systems, or related domain
  • Experience working in HD Maps, ADAS mapping, autonomous vehicles, robotics, or automotive systems strongly preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Python
  • Hands-on experience building or maintaining web UI test automation frameworks
  • Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies
  • Experience working in fast-paced release environments (weekly or frequent releases)
  • Familiarity with geospatial data concepts (lane-level mapping, topology, map attributes, coordinate systems)
  • Experience with geospatial data formats (GeoJSON, Shapefiles, OpenDRIVE, etc.) is a plus
  • GIS background is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Self-starter who can operate with minimal supervision
