Job Description
Savan is seeking a Senior Records and Information Management (RIM) Consultant to support the execution of government-wide records lifecycle management activities. To be successful in this position, you should have experience developing and implementing information-related strategies, policies, technologies, and procedures. You will be expected to assess process compliance with RIM requirements and best practices, quickly identify root causes of RIM challenges, distill recommendations into actionable strategies and execute them. You will also be expected to lead the implementation of recommended program improvements which may include records lifecycle modernization activities and training. Role Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a detailed understanding of agency records management program priorities, special projects, and ongoing records lifecycle support activities
- Develop and support implementation of guidance for paper, electronic records and digitalization projects in accordance with the Federal Records Act, NARA guidelines, industry trends, and professional RIM standards
- Lead record identification, tracking and data entry for record inventory and file plan efforts
- Support records scheduling and appraisal activities
- Support development of digitization strategies, training, and guidance and support execution of digitization activities through quality assurance reviews
- Support development and delivery of training programs across the records management spectrum
- Advise stakeholders on appropriate courses of action to address complex, technical enterprise RIM challenges
- Support the implementation of electronic records management solutions
- 3+ years supporting records management initiatives across the federal government
- Experience applying or maintaining records inventories and file plans
- Experience reviewing, updating, and developing federal records schedules
- Bachelor’s degree in information management (e.g., Information Science/Management, Library/Archives, Data/Information Governance) or business discipline
- Ability to obtain and maintain required government clearance.
- Certified Records Manager (CRM) certification
- Working knowledge of applications used to enforce information governance or management policies such as: SharePoint, Microsoft Purview, Hyland Solutions, M-Files, Documentum, etc.
- Strong and consistent business writing
