Senior Research Scientist, Digital Biology

We seek a Senior Research Scientist aligned with our goal to transform the life sciences. This role offers a chance to apply your skills in a dynamic, cooperative setting. You will play a key role in creating tools that change the landscape of drug discovery, virtual cell, and more. What you will be doing:

• Serving as a technical lead for the development of datasets, tasks, and evaluation frameworks for foundation models

• Building external collaborations and community efforts to build high-quality datasets and biologically meaningful tasks for complex problems in digital biology

• Establishing benchmarks and evaluation criteria, and demonstrating the strengths of our research output to promote tangible progress in the field

• Inventing novel training and inference techniques, harnessing the power of NVIDIA accelerated computing platforms

• Publishing original research and releasing open-source software

• Collaborating with research and engineering teams across NVIDIA to translate research into products and services

• Mentoring emerging researchers and helping set the technical direction of the project

What we need to see:

• Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Computational Chemistry, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent experience

• More than 5 years of pertinent experience involving direct assessment of models in the digital biology and drug discovery field

• Proven track record of publishing work in machine learning, data science, and/or digital biology

• Proficient in modern machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX

• Experience in one or more of the following: cheminformatics, computational biology, proteomics, structural biology, or another relevant field of biology or chemistry

• Ability to absorb new information and keep others informed about the most recent advancements and tools in the field

• Ability to work together in a tight-knit team environment

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

• Comprehensive understanding of the drug discovery field

• Experience formulating original strategies in machine learning

• Experience with multimodal biological or chemical foundation models

• Experience defining benchmarks, evaluation frameworks, or shared standards for scientific ML

• Track record of research impact through publications, open-source software, patents, or transferred technology

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 192,000 USD - 304,750 USD.Applications for this job will be accepted at least until April 24, 2026.
